Trellis Update








Here are some pics from Matuz and Rover's half day of labor. This is my 'trellis.' Using the roof as the 'post'



















Now the hops in action. Top Cascade. Bottom Hallertau.

Below is Matuz's temporary trellis. Right now without hops or soil, its looks like some construction Monolith to the PVC gods. Below right is the 'haif' garden. Further landscapes will increase its size. It will do good for this summer. EDITORS NOTE (Polack slave labor was used to construct this site)

Can't wait to get the hops in the ground, Sterling and Nugget. Good times doing some yard work.

I'd say those shoots that you got now that we did not trim back are the one we should look towards wrapping around the line. I read you want 3-4 or even 5-6 vines around each line. Commercial growers do less because of the machines they use to harvest, but since we are private home-grown we can do more. If we see a problem with the weight we can always add another string.
